At this meeting, the newly elected office bearers of the organization were presented with appointment letters and assigned important responsibilities. However, journalists present at the meeting strongly condemned the death threats and abuses made by Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Dina Patil against journalists and demanded immediate strict action against him. During this meeting, the issue of safety and increasing attacks on journalists in Maharashtra was discussed, highlighting the increasing number of attacks on journalism and journalists, known as the fourth pillar of democracy. The intimidation of journalists by politicians and social evils continues.  The Journalist Protection Act provides for the protection of journalists.
